Business-purpose finance. Fortis is a broker, not a lender.

YOUR FUNDING OPTIONS

Funding that follows your trading cycle.

Invoice finance

Access funding against eligible unpaid business invoices rather than waiting for payment. The facility is assessed against your receivables, customers and trading profile.

  • Support cash flow between invoicing and collection
  • Explore a facility linked to eligible sales
  • Understand advance levels, reserves and charges

Factoring

Combine invoice funding with a provider-managed credit control and collection service. This can suit businesses that want external support managing their sales ledger.

  • Funding and collections within one arrangement
  • Review how the provider communicates with customers
  • Check service fees, recourse terms and notice periods

Invoice discounting

Explore invoice funding while retaining responsibility for credit control. Confidential arrangements may be available where the provider’s criteria are met.

  • Retain your customer collection process
  • Assess reporting and ledger-management requirements
  • Check whether confidentiality is available for your case

Supply chain finance

Explore structures intended to support supplier payments and the timing of your trading cycle. Availability depends on the commercial relationships, transactions and provider criteria.

  • Discuss supplier payment requirements
  • Review the cost and payment timetable
  • Understand the obligations of each party
IS THIS THE RIGHT ROUTE?

Consider the business.
Consider the commitment.

This may suit a business with unpaid business-to-business invoices, extended customer terms or a need to support growing sales without waiting for collections.

Not every invoice qualifies. Disputes, overdue accounts, customer concentration and contractual restrictions can affect availability. In recourse arrangements, your business may remain responsible if a customer does not pay.

We discuss the proposed terms and charges before you decide whether to proceed. All facilities remain subject to provider criteria, status and credit checks.

HOW YOUR ENQUIRY WORKS

One prepared case.
One named contact.

Our lender network gives us access to over 200 commercial lenders. We approach providers whose criteria fit the enquiry; the number of options available depends on your circumstances.

01

Understand the requirement

Tell us what you need to fund, the amount and your preferred timing. We establish the business circumstances before looking at potential routes.

02

Prepare the application

Your case handler may request aged debtor and creditor reports, sample invoices, business accounts and details of your main customers.

03

Explain the available terms

We approach suitable providers and explain the proposed costs, security and next steps. You decide whether to proceed; the lender makes the credit decision.

FEES AND OUR ROLE

Clear costs before you commit.

Fortis is a broker, not a lender. Our broker fee is 1.5% of the loan amount or £2,995, whichever is greater. We may also receive commission from the lender. Lender arrangement, valuation, legal and other charges may apply, depending on the facility.

We arrange finance for business purposes only. We are not authorised or regulated by the FCA and do not give advice or recommendations on regulated products. Enquiries that fall within FCA regulation are introduced to Loan.co.uk Limited, an independent FCA-authorised firm (FRN 718486). We may receive an introduction fee.

YOUR QUESTIONS

What to know before enquiring.

Is factoring the same as invoice discounting?

Both involve funding against invoices. Factoring generally includes provider-managed collections, while invoice discounting usually leaves credit control with your business. The agreement determines the actual service.

Will my customers know about the facility?

That depends on the arrangement. Some facilities are disclosed to customers; confidential arrangements may be available subject to provider assessment. We will establish the proposed position before you proceed.

How much funding can my invoices release?

The provider assesses eligible invoices, advance levels, reserves and any existing borrowing. We will explain the proposed availability and charges rather than assume all invoices can be funded.
